LIGURIA, Shopping



Any tourist attraction won't be complete without a comprehensive shopping experience and Liguria is no different in that respect.


Liguria is dotted with shopping destination is all the four segments- Genova , Imperia, La Spezia and Savona.

  • Genova:
    Genova plays host to a number of shopping destinations like Piazzetta Lavagna, designer stores in Via Roma and Via XX Settembre. A shopping mall, known as Fiumara is present nearby the Genova Aquarium, Via San Luca also poses as an effective destination for some bargain buys. The shop timings in Genova normally range from 9:00 A.M- 8:00P.M. One can also check out the antique market here.

  • Imperia:
    Sanremo City offers the best shopping experience in Imperia. Antiques and locally made offerings are the attractions of this place. From open air markets (Piazza Eroi Sanremesi) ,fish market (the Piazza Eroi Sanremesi) to shopping streets like Via Matteotti offers a lot of options to buyers. The operation hours are normally from 9:30AM- 7:30PM.

  • La Spezia:
    Not one of the biggest regions of Liguria, but LaSpezia attracts a lot of attention from tourists. Pottery and caramics from LaSpezia are great hits and the shops are normally located in the older section of the town. Via del Prione, is famed for accessories and clothing stores.

  • Savona:
    The shopping options in Savona are on the niche side where the tourists can find better products to take back home. The 'centro commerciale' called il Gabbiano serves as the prime shopping destination.  One can collect custom souvenirs to take back home while visiting the stores in the older part of the city. The prices are competitive and the budget buyers will find them much to their liking.

  • Alassio (Savona):
    The Allosio region in Savona plays hosts to the “Budello”- the biggest epicenter of shopping in whole of Liguria. It is effectively the ancient alley that circles the whole town and runs in parallel to the sea front. The alleyway runs from the Borgo Coscia to the Ciccione Promenade.
    The area boasts of the best designer shops in the Western Riviera. Fashion connoisseurs will have a handful of choices to make as the place offers a gamut of fashion options. Antique and traditional wares also form the core components of the shopping extravaganza here.

  • Portofino:
    As a shopping destination, Portofino offers much variety to the travelers. From casual knick knacks to the wares boasting of sophisticated fashion, the area offers something for everybody. Though effectively a small city, Portofino boasts of some of the finest shops in Liguria. Adding to the allure is the location of the shops in the beautiful water front. Wine comes first in the shopping list of serous travelers. The supply of Italian lace is also noteworthy and helps people acquire the basic raw materials to make their won clothing from the fine lace.

  • Rapallo:
    If one is at the lookout for local Italian delights, they are effectively in the right place in Rapallo. There are a number of departmental stores in the city, some specialty stores dealing with local wares and also some regional fares.
